Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
Moutet saved four early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
